Post Katrina.... not quite how we left the place....

Due to 3 feet of water that sat for over a week in our first floor after Hurricane Katrina, we lost 90% of our art supplies and equipment, along with personal artworks and artworks in our collection. We estimate the cost of supplies and equipment lost to be in the neighborhood of $10,000 (two darkroom setups and other photo equipment, a stained glass workshop, power tools, paints, canvasses, etc....). While we are searching for artist assistance grants and waiting to hear if we will be eligible for a Small Business Association loan to replace supplies and equipment, if you would like to make a donation to help us start replacing some supplies and equipment, we would very much appreciate it! To make a monetary donation via paypal, please click on the following link:

If you would like to make a donation via check or money order, please make it out to either Jeffrey Holmes or Andrea Garland as we are not yet set up to take checks made out to l'art Noir New Orleans. We are also very happy to accept physical supplies and equipment if you have anything to spare - anything we can not use personally will be passed along to the many other artists in New Orleans that also lost their studios, supplies and equipment. Our mailing address is:

l'art Noir New Orleans
831 Elysian Fields Ave. #216
New Orleans, LA 70117

We do recommend shipping anything larger than a letter via UPS or FedEx - the US Postal Service is still in very bad shape in New Orleans and while letters have finally started arriving, packages are taking a very long time!

Thanks to all our friends and fans for all the help without which we would not be able to bring you the art!
